Congratulations to last week's readers. Miss. McNeil's class read more than anyone else in the school. Keep up the great work.

A very special thanks to 208 Realty for their recent donation. Jill Stone, Olivia Jackson, and Terry Winkle of 208 Realty dropped off tissues and disinfecting wipes from a drive that they had at their office. We truly appreciate their generous gift.

One of the many new games that our Bobcats enjoy playing at recess is called Roller Ball!

It seems like it was just last week that we announced the Penny War Competition. It looks like a tight race between popcorn and popsicles. Tomorrow will decide who reigns victorious. Tomorrow will be the last day to put your 2 cents in on who should win. Thanks everyone!

Bickel Parent Open House – February 25th @ 6:00 PM (Bickel Cafeteria): The district will be addressing parent questions about new school zones. Staff from Morningside, Oregon Trail, and Lincoln will also be present.

Ms. Angell's first graders recently read several versions of The Little Red Hen. Then they all helped bake a cake. Everyone wanted to help, nobody said, "Not I!" Everyone helped to eat the cake, too.

We take our fire drills very seriously. "I am not scared, I am prepared" is the motto we live by. Through practice our staff & students are better prepared in case of a true emergency. Mr. TJ is always looking out for us. For our last fire drill he was the fire blocking an exit. This made us practice responding in an alternate way. Everyone did an amazing job. Just a reminder: School dismisses at 2:00 on Mondays and this Monday is Picture Day!

Doggone it, Mrs. Brewer is another year older. Her Bobcats celebrated her by wearing dog shirts, singing to her, decorating her office, providing her with goodies and love. Happy Birthday, Mrs. Brewer. Thanks for all that you do.

The results are in...Team Kindergarten read the most last week. They kicked off the Mahomes Reading Project by scoring 740 minutes of reading time. Whose class will be rewarded next with a visit from the "STAND-UP" guy, Patrick Mahomes? Keep reading and turn in those minutes.

No School!

Happy Presidents' Day! No School.

Gracie V. and Faraja B were our Bobcat Events Photographers today. Both of them earned this special assignment and both of them are 3rd graders. These Bobcats put their hearts into their work. Happy Valentine's Day! (Snow pictures were contributed by Mr. Morton.)

There will be no school on Monday and Tuesday (17-18th). When we return on Wednesday, wear your favorite dog shirt (or Bickel shirt with paw prints). Also, make sure to submit your reading minutes from last week to your teachers. Enjoy the long weekend.
